1. Lummus Park, South Beach – Outdoor Park

Lummus Park is located in South Beach, and I highly recommend renting a bicycle and strolling through it. After the stroll, you can visit the beach or one of the hundreds of restaurants1

2. Wynwood – Neighborhood

I must be honest: a couple of years ago, Wynwood was my #1 neighborhood to recommend to people visiting Miami, but not anymore. I still think it’s worth visiting; you can find delicious restaurants, edgy stores and cool murals, but it can get messy and packed if you visit late on the weekends.

I really recommend taking an Uber or Lyft because the parking can be very limited.

3. Vizcaya Museum & Gardens – Museum

The museum is the former villa and estate of businessman James Deering, located near Coconut Grove. You can visit the villa, now a museum, and the fantastic gardens.

The museum opens daily except on Tuesdays from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm. You can buy your tickets HERE.

Tickets per adult are $25.

4. Bayside Marketplace – Outdoor Shopping Center

It’s an open-air shopping center located in downtown Miami. It counts with restaurants, shops, boats, and live music.

Don’t forget to hop on The Sky View Miami, an observation wheel with views of Biscayne Bay, Bayfront Park, and the iconic Downtown Miami skyline. They operate Monday to Thursday from 1 pm to 10 pm and Friday to Sunday from 12 pm to 10 pm. You can buy the tickets HERE.

General tickets are $19.92.

5. Miami Heat Game at the Miami-Dade Arena

The Miami Heat are an American professional basketball team based in Miami. It’s a really cool and different experience, make sure to check the games online.

6. Miami Design District – Neighborhood

A neighborhood with modern architecture, art galleries, luxury fashion, jewelry boutiques, cafes, and celebrity-chef restaurants.

Find more about Miami Design District HERE.

7. Brickell – Neighborhood

You can find different restaurants, shops, parks, walk spaces, bars and more. Brickell City Centre is one of the most popular places in Brickell.

Find more about Brickell City Centre HERE.

8. Faena Hotel – Hotel

Tickets per adult are $18.

11. Esotico – Restaurant

A tiki bar and restaurant near Downtown Miami. They offer exotic cocktails and tropical cuisine. The decoration is AWESOME, and you can even cook your own kebab.

12. Artechouse – Digital Gallery

It’s a digital gallery that combines technology and art located in South Beach. I liked the experience but expected the place to be bigger and have more exhibitions.

13. Casa Florida

It’s a tropical vibes bar; they offer craft cocktails and small bites. The decoration is very pink, cute and eye-catching. They have indoor and outdoor seating (I recommend sitting by the bus).

1. Museum of Contemporary Art

One of the best contemporary art museums I’ve been to. The exhibitions are really interesting, and everything is very well organized. It’s only 6 minutes walking from the Magnificent Mile.

visiting disney world during covid-19

World Disney World it’s a place where you can momentarily escape from reality and enjoy the greatness of Magic! However, with a pandemic, it can be a little bit challenging to think about enjoying a theme park where social distancing and clean surfaces seem almost impossible.

I did some research and read everything they are doing to keep us safe while visiting the parks. I felt good about what I found and decided to visit one park. Now, I want to share my experience of visiting Walt Disney World during Covid-19.

Covid-19 measurements I witnessed while visiting Disney World

1. Face Coverings

Facemasks are mandatory for all guests and cast members, ages 2 and up (employees are constantly checking if guests are properly covering their nose and mouth, if not, they will ask you to do it). Neck gaiters and bandanas are not acceptable face coverings.

disney signal face masks

2. Temperature Screenings

Temperature screenings are required for entering the parks (these lines are very fast).

temperature screening disney world

3. Scannable Menu Codes and Mobile Orders for Dining

Now, you need to scan a code to see a restaurant menu. Additionally, most of the dining experiences are mobile orders, which means that you’ll need to place an order through the Disney app and then pick it up at the location. Some locations are open to dine-in, but you will need to make a reservation through the app.

mobile order disney world

4. Social Distancing Measurements

All rides, restaurants, and shops have 6 ft apart ground markings to ensure all guests practice social distancing. Some rides have plastic barriers.

social distancing in disney world

5. Hand Sanitizer Locations

Hand sanitizers and handwashing locations all over the park.

hand sanitizer in disney world

6. Park Capacity

There’s only 35% of the total capacity.

social distancing disney world

My pros and cons:

Cons:

  • You have to make a line to enter everywhere (that means less time for rides)
  • Some rides, restaurants, experiences, and parades are temporarily closed or unavailable. Even so, you will not be able to see or experience everything available because everywhere you go, there’s a line.
  • FastPass+ is not available.
  • Some people don’t care about following the 6ft distance while making lines, and it can get frustrating to keep asking the party behind you to keep their distance.
  • If your phone dies, you may have problems with ride reservations and dining orders.
  • No more meetings and photos with Disney characters
  • They placed a barrier between the front and back of the cart rides to maintain social distancing. But those on the back don’t get to experience the ride as well as those in the front.
  • Now you need a park ticket, and also a park reservation (I don’t really consider it a con, but it’s one more step to the process)

Pros

  • Thanks to the ground markings, you are 6ft apart from the party in the front and behind you (you will have your personal space, not next to each other like it used to be).
  • Waiting time is the same as before, 60 – 90 mins, and lines are longer now, but they advance faster than before. For me, it felt better to wait while walking than to wait while standing in the same spot.
  • If you get hungry, you need to order the food through the app and pick it up when it’s ready.
  • You can manage your entire visit through your phone and the Disney app.
  • More organization.
  • Fewer crowds.
  • Fewer people in restrooms.
  • No more different parties next to you on the rides (you may have different parties in front or behind, but a barrier will separate you).

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

If you plan to visit Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios and hop on the last Star Wars ride, “Rise of the Resistance,” I suggest you keep reading.

To enter this ride, you need a place in a virtual queue (you will get an email with the link one day before your visit). This virtual queue will place you in a boarding group for the ride.

star wars rise of the resistance

Here is my experience with this ride:

They only allow you to join the virtual queue at 7 am and 1 pm on the same day you visit the park. We set the alarm at 6:58 am. Then, we started refreshing the page; at 7 am, the queue was available. We started reading every step very carefully because we didn’t want to make any mistakes. But, before accepting, the queue was already full. At 7:01 am, they reached capacity.

We had another chance at 1:00 pm. We set the alarm at 12:55 pm, and we started refreshing the page. At 1:00 pm, the queue opened. This time, we didn’t read anything, just clicked “join” and “ok.” We got in! Unfortunately, they placed us in a backup boarding group, and they didn’t guarantee access to the attraction.

Luckily, 3 hours later, our boarding group was called, and we had a 45 mins window to get to the ride. We just have ordered food from a dine-in restaurant, so we put everything in a box and head ASAP to the ride.

star wars rise of the resistance

It definitely was a different and strange experience to visit Disney World during a pandemic, but the park is taking COVID precautions very seriously. I missed experiencing the park like I used to, but I’m glad I felt safe while visiting it. Plus, I really enjoyed the social distancing part, especially in lines.

Leave me a comment below if you like it!

How to pack a personal item for spirit airlines

We all love to pay for cheap tickets to fly, but having to pay almost $100 for a carry-on or a checked bag is really disappointing, and in the end, you will pay the same amount of money that you were going to pay in another airline.

Follow these simple steps, and you would never have to pay for a checked bag or carry-on in Spirit:

*Pack from 2 to 4 days

1. CHECK THE DIMENSIONS:

Check that your item doesn’t exceed these dimensions.

How to pack a personal item for spirit airlines
show How to pack a personal item for spirit airlines

If your bag doesn’t meet these dimensions, make sure to use one that does. The staff’s really strict with this policy, and they are always checking the passengers’ bag.

2. CHECK THE WEATHER:

Check the weather of the city you are visiting. This will help you to know what kind of clothing to pack. Maybe you will have to pack a light jacket if it’s going to be windy or pack more shorts than jeans if it’s going to be very hot.

show How to pack a personal item for spirit airlines

3. CREATE ALL YOUR OUTFITS:

Get all your outfits ready for each day of your trip, including tops, bottoms, shoes, accessories, and underwear.

show How to pack a personal item for spirit airlines

NOW LET’S PACK!!

1. PACK THE OUTFITS

After choosing your outfits, use a Compressing Travel Bag for the clothes and save some space.

2. PACK THE SHOES

Pack the lightest shoes in the bag and use the heaviest the day of the trip.

3. PACK A PAJAMA

Pack 1 or 2 pajamas.

4. PACK UNDERWEAR AND SOCKS

5. PACK HAIRBRUSH AND STRAIGHTENER

Pack them in the sides of the bag.

6. PACK THE ACCESSORIES

Put them inside a small bag to find them easily.

7. PACK YOUR WALLET

If you have a big wallet change it to a smaller one.

show How to pack a personal item for spirit airlines, backpack, shoes, girl packing

8. PACK THE MAKEUP AND TOILETRIES

Take only the makeup that you really use and put it in a bag with your toiletries.

show How to pack a personal item for spirit airlines, backpack, shoes, girl packing

9. PACK A PURSE

Pack a small purse that matches with all your outfits.

show How to pack a personal item for spirit airlines, backpack, shoes, girl packing

9. PACK A CORONA KIT

Really important to pack a Corona Kit. Mine has gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, and antibacterial wipes.

VOILA! We packed up to 4 days in just a Personal Item! The best part is that it’s FREE!

Last but not least, use the same outfit to travel to your destination and to travel back home!

I hope these tips work for you! Leave me a comment if you have some extra tips!
